Going on vacation last week… not only did it leave me feeling physically exhausted due to lack of sleep, but it also left my digestive system a little out of whack. So I decided my plan for this week is to have more smoothies and salads for meals, fewer meals out like while on vacation! Part of my plan is using Rockin’ Wellness in morning smoothies. The ingredients are: Raw Organic CACAO Bean; Raw Organic GOJI BERRY; Raw Organic HULLED HEMP SEED; Raw Organic Non-GMO BROWN RICE PROTEIN; Organic Non-GMO LECITHIN; Raw Organic MACA ROOT; Organic CHIA SEED; Organic Evaporated CANE JUICE; Organic BANANA Fruit; Organic GREEN TEA (leaf); Organic YERBA MATE Leaf; Organic GUAR GUM (Bean); Organic Non-GMO FLAXSEED; (Lactobacillus) L. ACIDOPHILUS; Organic STEVIA Extract (Leaf)
There are 90 calories per serving, 2g fiber, 4g protein – so it’s not some super-high protein powder. That’s not the point… instead it’s full of good-for-you stuff, superfoods! It’s vegan, gluten-free, preservative-free.
I have put chia seeds in smoothies before, but it always seems like I end up spending a lot of time cleaning seeds out of the blender that are stuck all over the sides. Interesting thing with this stuff? You get benefits of chia seeds but they don’t seem to cling all over in the blender.
It says you can blend it with milk (they recommend any non-dairy milk), water or throw it in a smoothie. Before vacation I did try mixing it into unsweetened almond milk and water. It’s drinkable with the water, but definitely better with the almond milk. In fact, I really liked it with the almond milk.
But the ultimate for me… mixing it into a smoothie. I’ve been making smoothies with almond milk, spinach, banana, Rockin’ Wellness and some protein powder and it is so satisfying. I usually always start craving a mid-morning snack around 9-9:30 AM. But when I’ve been doing this smoothie blend the past few days I don’t feel starving. (Of course, that could be due to the fact that I’m not breastfeeding anymore… my body doesn’t burn through everything as fast!)
The downside? It’s kind of expensive. Their one bag (with a blender bottle) deal costs $49.99 and their three bag, 45-day challenge pack is $134.95. I’m not sure that I would spend that much… but I can honestly say that I will be sad when my bag is empty!
Sounds complicated, but delicious!
Where is the chocolate, strawberries, pineapple in all those ingredients? Oh yeah I see the Cacao bean and banana fruit LOL
