I love Larabars, so I was excited when I heard about the new Larabar Alt bars. They are a new higher protein variation of Larabars. The protein comes from pea protein, not whey or soy like many products on the market. This means they are vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, non-GMO. I hadn’t seen the Larabar Alt bars anywhere until one day I randomly stumbled upon 3 of the 4 flavors while at a grocery store. I grabbed them and put them in my cart without even looking at the price. I knew I NEEDED to try them.
Well… I wasn’t as thrilled with them as I had hoped. They all seemed kind of dry and crumbly. I don’t know if that was just the ones I got or if all of them are that way, but I was not as pleased with them as I am with about every other Larabar I’ve tasted. Bummer.
I would probably eat one again if given the chance, but I am not going to jump to add these to my Amazon Subscribe & Save. (Which, I do have for the peanut butter cookie regular Larabar.)
