Ever heard of high-protein snack chips?
I hadn’t either before I was sent ProTings to try.
ProTings are interesting because they contain 15 grams of protein per 150 calorie serving. The protein source is a pea protein isolate. They have 3 grams of fiber, no gluten, are baked, they come in two flavors right now (Chili Lime and BBQ) and there are 3 new flavors in the works. (Sour Cream & Onion, Fiery Buffalo and Bacon Cheddar)
Sounds fantastic, right?
They look pretty tasty dumped on the plate.
But alas, I didn’t really care for them. It wasn’t the flavorings on the outside, because both varieties actually have really good flavor profiles if you lick it off the outside. It was the actual chip itself that kind of tasted strange to me. Also, the texture was not like a typical snack chip.
I was really sad that I didn’t enjoy them more, because everything on the packaging, the way they looked, the way they smelled… it all seemed like they should be delicious. But for me, I just couldn’t fall in love with them.
Hi there Jill, I actually bought a bag of these the other day in Brooklyn and really enjoyed them. The nutrition facts are insanely good and the flavoring like you said was really nice (especially the Chili Lime, good kick). I also wasn’t really expecting it to be like a fried kettle chip anyway. Keep running 😉
I’m glad to hear that! Because I REALLY REALLY wanted to like them, but just didn’t. And like you said, the nutritionals are awesome, so I want them to do well and find an audience… because we need more good foods like that on the market!
