Xyience Xenergy (zy-ince zen-er-gy) was launched in 2006, the first energy drink created by a nutrition company. They were also the first energy drink brand to print on the labels how much caffeine is contained in the product. Although, you do have to do math to figure out how much you’re consuming… it’s given to you by how much caffeine per ounce, not the entire can. (Which let’s be honest, most people are probably going to consume the entire can without doing the math. They’ll read that little XXmg statement and think that’s the whole deal.) They also include warnings about not mixing it with alcohol or giving it to kids.
Xyience is headquartered right here in Las Vegas (YAY for a local biz) and is the official energy drink of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (Eh… don’t really care for that.) Xyience started in 2004 as a sports nutrition and supplement company. And if you’re into the UFC stuff, they’ve got a contest going on to win a VIP Las Vegas weekend with Chuck Liddell.*
The Xenergy+ lineup is non-carbonated, no calorie and sugar-free. There are three varieties in the lineup:
Xenergy+ Tea
Comes in two flavors, Raspberry Acai and Honey Ginseng and has 10mg of caffeine per ounce. (160mg in the entire can.)
Xenergy+ Lemonade
Comes in two flavors, Pineapple and Raspberry and has 10mg of caffeine per ounce and a blend of B vitamins. (160mg in the entire can!) Designed to use after a workout, or during the workday… because those are two similar feelings of being drained, right? Oh wait… the workout fatigue is WAY better than work fatigue! The Pineapple flavor is excellent, it was tempting to down the whole can at once because of the flavor. I had to refrain because I didn’t want that much caffeine.
Xenergy+ Hydration
Comes in two flavors, Grape and Tropical Punch. Caffeine free! Designed to be used in conjunction with workouts (before, during or after), this one contains electrolytes and B vitamins to keep your energy levels up. This is my favorite… mainly because I’m trying to really limit caffeine right now. The Tropical Punch tastes kind of how I remember Hawaiian Punch tasting, although I haven’t had that in EONS!
Big shoutout to Forte Creative Media for getting me these to try! They’ve got a great team over there at FCM!
* I obviously don’t live a VIP Las Vegas lifestyle and I am not quite sure what I would do if I won a contest where I hung out with some celebrity. I once saw a contest where you could win a year’s supply of something I actually used, but part of the prize was a private concert from some band and I thought to myself, “Oooh… what if I actually won? Then I’d had to sit there for a private concert? I like their music, but can we say AWKWARD. And what do you say when it comes time to chat with them. ‘So… do you like, stuff?’ Best not enter, just to be safe.” 😉
I’ve never seen this one but whenever I need an energy drink I usually try to grab a Xenergy… but in all seriousness I used to drink about 2-3 a night 5-6 days a week… if I wasn’t drinking those I was drinking a Monster drink or Tim Horton’s ice cap… yes this sounds like a lot, but when you’re trying to keep morale up during graveyard shifts, you’ll do just about anything 🙂
