Ouch!

The race was tougher than I anticipated. Of course, that just goes to show you that you can’t ever have any expectations because nothing is 100% in your control. I got wicked sick to my stomach for the last 6 miles. I finished in 4:51:22, which is a PR and I definitely met my goal of “finish feeling good” because I’m not planning a trip to an orthopedic surgeon’s office like I was last time. I am trying not to feel disappointed in my time, even though I had hoped for a little faster.

Full race report will come later!

  1. CONGRATS!!!! Great time especially considering the last 6 miles sucked!!!! AWESOME AWESOME AWEOME!!!! You did it! And it’s a PR!!! Maybe not the one you wanted but a PR nonetheless!!!

  2. I’m so proud of you. From what I’ve heard, the last 6 miles always sucks! I’m glad that it wasn’t the knee this time. GOOD JOB JILL!

  3. A PR. That’s so great!. I was following you along as were Scott and Tana. I think that is a marvelous time even if not quite what you wanted. Hope you are not sick the rest of the week.

  4. WOW! Way to go girl! You rock! I’m so proud of you for sticking it out when you were sick! That’s so hard to do, I know. And any PR is a great PR in my book. Well done. I applaud you!

  5. Congratulations, Jill, and don’t feel badly about the time. Like you said, it’s better than last time, and I give you props for finishing when you didn’t feel good at all. I am so proud of you – congratulations!!

    Awesome job.

  6. We were watching your progress too and we were totally impressed. I’m amazed that you were able to keep your time so consistent throughout the race, even when feeling so awful that final stretch. We’re glad you didn’t have any major injuries this time around.

Looking forward to hearing more details.

Don’t you dare beat yourself up about not reaching the time you wanted. A personal best is something to be proud of. Way to go!!!
