Bob and Brad Q2 Mini Massage Gun

I received a Bob & Brad Q2 Mini Massage Gun a while ago to review. I purchased a different Bob & Brad massage gun for myself a few years earlier and have liked it, but this one is definitely an upgrade.

Wait, first I guess I should introduce you to Bob & Brad if you don’t know them!

Bob and Brad are internet-famous physical therapists. They have a YouTube channel that has TONS of helpful videos for all ages on reducing aches and pains and how to generally stay more physically active while reducing pain. Their team has expanded as they’ve grown, evolved, and aged.

As I said, I have a different massage gun from their line and it works great. But it’s also weighted differently from the Q2 and is harder for me to control on my own upper back, shoulders, trapezoids.

The Q2 is just littler for my tiny baby hands and it’s easier to use. It packs just as much power (or at least, it feels like it to me!) and works great for my needs.

Accessories

The Q2 massage gun comes with its own case that holds the base unit, all of the attachments, and a charging cable in a small portable unit.

I mostly use the ball head (rounded head for large muscles like quads), the flat head (for anywhere), and the air cushion head (which is for relaxation). It comes with a u-shaped head (I call this the pitchfork and I don’t see myself massaging around my spine on my own, I’d have to recruit help) and a bullet head (which I call the spike, it says it’s for trigger points and for small muscles like the feet and wrists… I cannot fathom using this on my wrist, no matter how sore they get from all that hard computer labor I do.)

It comes with a USB-A to USB-C charger that is compatible with most bricks that plug into the wall (or directly plug it into a USB outlet to charge.)

Noise Level

Some of the marketing says it is “whisper quiet” and it supposedly measures 40-50 dB, which is more than half as quiet than, say… a vacuum cleaner at 85 dB. But even half the level of a vacuum cleaner is louder than a whisper.

That’s not to say the noise is loud or cumbersome, it’s just that if I’m sitting in the same room as my family using it, they’re definitely going to notice that it’s on. Unless the TV is on, because that thing is always cranked up to 11.

(Actually, it’s louder than 11… I’m just using a dated Spinal Tap reference. The volume scale on my TV does not top out at 11, I’m not sure where it ends, but it seems like I’m most comfortable with it around 16 and my husband likes it up around 22 or so.)

Affordable

I’ve always seen this priced around $70, but often it’s on sale for closer to $55-60. It really is a good deal.

Plus, as of this posting, Mother’s Day is nearly here and if you are delayed in getting your mom a gift, you could order this from Amazon and have it to the person who gave you life very quickly, often within a day (if you live close enough to a distribution center.)
