Fun Run Box is a running subscription box curated by runners for runners. Each month the box contains gear, fuel, surprises, and challenges for subscribers. I was gifted a box to check out and share with all of you and I was really pleasantly surprised at all the great stuff inside! There’s a discount code at the bottom of this post for 15% off your first box!

Bumbleroot Hydration Drink Mix in Raspberry Hibiscus Mint: These drink packets have 40 calories and are made of coconut water powder, baobab, dried fruits/herbs, and sweetened with stevia and monkfruit.

AITape Kinesiology Tape: This is kinesiology tape to support/brace sore sports. But it also contains pain fighting ingredients menthol and capsaisin.

Larabars: Two full-size Larabars, one Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor and one Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip flavor. I don’t know why I haven’t had a Larabar in a long time, but I do really like these bars.

2Toms Stinkfree Sports Detergent: Made specifically to work with athletic gear, this is designed to lift out residue and neutralize odor causers instead of just masking a smell.

Empower Roll and Go Massager: I’ve never seen a little massager like this before, but I’m totally sticking it in my luggage for the next trip I go on. It’s pretty small and can be jammed in around other items if needed. It’s not as strong or effective as a bigger rolling stick or foam roller, but it will get the job done. And if I pull my hair all the way up, it’s handy for rolling on the neck.

Sprigs Banjees Wrist Wallet: This wrist wallet will hold my iPhone 8, so that’s surprising. I’m not quite sure I trust the thinness of the material to protect it against sweat/moisture. As soon as it’s a little warmer (uh…next weekend?) and I don’t need to wear long-sleeves or arm warmers when I run, I may try this out to see how secure it feels if I pull it up a little higher on my forearm. Right at the wrist it feels too loose. There is an additional zipper pocket to hold other items in it as well.

Hydrapak Ultraflask 300ml: This is the tiniest water bottle ever! It holds 10oz of fluid. If you go out on a short run, you could probably stash this in your waist band all collapsed once empty. But I do think it might be annoying to handhold during a run, so maybe have some way to carry it in a belt or vest when full? The bite valve removes for easy cleaning.

SPIBeams LED Headwar: It’s a hat! With LED lights built in! There are lights on the brim to help serve as a headlamp and blinking lights on the back to help with visibility. It’s pretty much the perfect addition to a night run leg in a relay race (since runners are required to have lights on those.) I didn’t know that SPIBelt had expanded into other things like this. I know lots of people love their belts, but I’ve always found them to be too bouncy for running.
In addition to all of these items, there is a checklist for their monthly “challenge” or “scavenger hunt”. If you find the items on the list, post them online, tag Fun Run Box, and email in your completed list, you could win free boxes. It’s kind of a fun additional element to each box, although the list I received was pretty long. I’m not sure I’ll find all of them!
The Fun Run Box costs $36.99 per month if you’re paying on a month-to-month base. But the price gets incrementally smaller with longer subscription terms, with the price getting down to $29.59/month if you are on a year-long subscription. You do choose if you want male/female cut shirt, your shirt size, your calf size, and sock size when signing up. That way if you get a shirt or calf sleeves or socks, they should fit you. That’s kind of a nice level of customization.
Even at the most expensive price point, if you added up all of these items separately it would be more than that box. (The hat alone retails for $29.99.) So all in all, it makes it a good deal to get all of these items. Plus a box full of surprise gifts (even if you’ve gifted them to yourself) is always a fun thing to receive in the mail!
