RunGoo – Blister and Callus Protection

FootKinetics sent me a tube of their RunGoo product to try. It is highly touted for its blister protection, but I haven’t been very blister-prone for several years. (Knock on wood…) So while I can’t vouch one way or the other in terms of the effectiveness in this application, I can say that it is definitely a cool product.

The applicator top is unique, it’s bumpy. So you squeeze some of the product up and then use that to massage it around on your feet. Pull your socks on (kind of gently so you don’t get the product on the outside of your socks!), put your shoes on and go for a run.

When you return and take off your socks, they’re not all gunked up and nasty from the product. It absorbs into your skin and leaves your skin healthier than it was before.  Seriously… I love the way it leaves my feet feeling! I have a thing against flaky, dried out feet and since becoming a mother I admit I haven’t spent as much time taking care of my feet. I was developing some calluses and RunGoo has been improving them.

For the nitty-gritty details from their site:

Our unique formulations are good for feet because they include hard waxes combined with lanolin and a balance of natural jojoba, mimosa and sunflower waxes. Each formulation provides both skin protection and foot moisturization while absorbing slowly and cleanly during the course of the activity.

In addition to the RunGoo, Foot Kinetics makes HikeGoo, WalkGoo and SilkStep (specifically for softening calluses, fixing cracked heels, overnight moisture).  It costs $16.99 for the 5.5 oz tube and can be purchased on the Foot Kinetics site, but RunGoo is also available on Amazon. WalkGoo and SilkStep come in a larger 8 oz. size and all varieties are available in a smaller 3 oz. starter size.
