Bare Faced and Fabulous is a new face wash from M3K Beauty that I’ve been trying lately. The name makes me think “Barefoot and Pregnant” every time I look at it!
I wasn’t familiar with M3K Beauty before I received this, the brand was launched at an event right here in Las Vegas in October 2012. M3K Founder and CEO Kim S Johnston created the line after buying tons of products that never seemed to help her the way she hoped, she was concerned about enlarged pores, sun damage, wrinkles… she wanted something that actually worked to combat those, had better ingredients than most products and was still affordable to all women.
The Bare Faced and Fabulous wash has the ingredients listed on the back, it contains plenty of natural ingredients like peppermint oil, aloe vera, goji berry, grape seed extract and more.
It’s a nice foam, very light in consistency and it feels good when you are rubbing it into your face. You can smell the peppermint oil in it, but it’s not overwhelming at all. The product is considered a 3-in-1, it’s a cleanser, makeup remover and toner.
I actually broke out in a couple of small pimples about 3 days after I started using it, I don’t know if that’s related or not. But the zits cleared up rapidly as well. I do like how my skin feels after using it, just fresh and clean without feeling overly dry. I have a tendency to have red, irritated skin and I actually feel like this product leaves it feeling a little calmer and more soothed.
But I’m not sure how I feel about ordering it online. I mean… I have no problems ordering stuff online, I do way more of that than I should! But I also have this irrational thing about ordering things one item at a time… unless it’s via Amazon Prime which doesn’t charge me shipping. But they do have a $5 flat rate shipping on the M3K site… so we’ll see how I feel at the end of using the bottle, because I do fully intend to keep using the bottle!
Also, just for kicks… I found an app that will apply makeup to a photo of you. So the larger photo in this collage is my “Bare Faced and Fabulous” self… and then the makeup options applied by the program. I will say, based on this experiment… perhaps I should wear some eye makeup every now and then and surprisingly I think I could wear a blue/green color of eye shadow. I also don’t think I look good with super dark & heavy eye makeup combined with missing my lips entirely with pink lipstick! (top right pic… the lipstick placement kills me!) Also, for some reason the app changes the shape of your face on some of their makeup application schemes. And one of them changed my eye color.
I dare you to take a bare faced and fabulous photo… and if you’re interested, play with the makeup settings in the Perfect 365 app too. It’s available on iOS, Android and Windows! (I’m still on the fence about this app… using it as a game, it’s fine. Using it as a way to touch-up all of your photos, that’s just going to perpetuate unrealistic expectations. The app did remove my freckles but it left my eye wrinkles and some scars.)
I have been using M3K for 5 months and I love the products and use them all.
