I went shopping with a friend to pick up my February outfit to meet my resolution challenge. Charlene gave me lots of good tips and challenged me to step outside my box.
(Okay, my standard over the past 7+ years of telecommuting has turned into wearing a t-shirt, jeans that don’t fit and a fleece jacket. I wanted to step away from that box!)
I didn’t get just one outfit, I got several!

I still need to figure out the settings on my camera to make these pictures turn out better. And making sure items of clothing are smoothed out when posting, of course I start the timer and then run over to stand there… it’s a miracle I’m in the shot! π
Wearing a scarf is WAY WAY WAY out of my normal comfort zone. But the way I look at it… it’s kind of like wearing a necklace to dress up an outfit, yet it’s infinitely more baby friendly. She can hold on to a scarf without breaking it!
I love the yellow jacket. It’s made of a soft, knit-like material so it feels casual enough to take the place of all my hideous, boxy fleece jackets yet looks infinitely better. And it’s got cute little ruching detail at the sleeves. (see me, using all these terms like ruching and peplum… watch out fashion blog world!)
This is kind of fun!
Those are really cute, but the first one is my favorite! Scarfs are my go to accessory (probably b/c I’m always cold)
I love them all but the last one is my favorite- high boots, a scarf and a jacket- LOVE! I wear scarves almost every day. They help keep me warm in my cold office. They are my go-to accessory. Check out on line or Pinterest to learn all the different ways to wear them!
Oh, good idea! Going to search Pinterest now! π
Cute outfits! I dress pretty simply in khakis and nice-ish long sleeve shirts for work and jeans and Ts for “fun”, and BOTH my sister AND my brother gave me fashion-type scarfs for Christmas π I think they want me to spice up my wardrobe. I’ve yet to wear either one, but you may have inspired me to give a scarf a try π
Do it! If I can branch out, you can too! π
Love the outfits! I desperately need help dressing like a girl. I live in a uniform throughout the week and when I’m not in that I’m in jeans and a t-shirt. I really need to take my friend up on taking me shopping sometime. You’re an inspiration! π
If you have a fashion-savvy friend to accompany you, take advantage! That totally helped me branch out!
I love all the fun colors you were sporting! What a great way to look forward to spring!
I have been all about fun spring shoes lately.
My latest pair I bought from http://www.rogansshoes.com/. Plus, they have a really great selection of running shoes!
