FitFluential?

I saw this poster on the web recently and saved it to one of my Pinterest boards.

(PS – Pinterest is a pretty cool site)

For me, the things that fill my time when I am procrastinating are:

  • Running
  • Yoga
  • Walking
  • Tweeting
  • Blogging
  • Learning about Social Media
  • Playing with new web tech
  • Researching health and fitness

Some of these items are things that would actually translate into my “real world” job, but I don’t often have as much time to devote to them as I would like while working.

When I read that poster I thought, I should probably make more of an effort to incorporate some of those things into my life in attempts that may lead me down the road to merging what I currently do for work (web stuffs) with more of my other passions.

That’s why I’m throwing in my name to be a FitFluential ambassador for the Las Vegas area.

I would love to be able to be a part of this network so I can help spread messages about healthful brands and companies.  But I don’t want to just talk fitness the way we see in so much of mainstream media.  I will never ever tell you to “drop inches” or “lose a size” or “cut calories” because I believe that health or fitness is so much more than just removing things from yourself.  It’s about ADDING.

  • Adding activities that make you feel good.
  • Adding friends that support and encourage you.
  • Adding positive messages to your life.
  • Adding things that help you perform to the best of your ability.

I wish I could say that I have the magic formula for all of that and will share it with you if I’m picked as a FitFluential ambassador.  But I don’t… I’m still learning and evolving.  Each new article I read, product I try, experience I have gives me more information… information that I love being able to share with others.  That’s why I coach newbie runners & walkers.  That’s why I blog.  That’s what feeds my soul.

So I’m humbly throwing my name into the pool… and I look forward to being able to share whatever I learn with my readers, whatever it may lead to!

  1. Yay, I’m glad you applied to be a FitFluential ambassador! You’d do a great job, and the kind of “fit” that you’d promote is what the country/world needs more of 🙂 Good luck, I hope you get chosen! I briefly considered applying but quickly talked myself out of it. I also just got a pinterest account but I haven’t used it yet, I should probably start doing that…it looks like a cool site.

  2. I love this statement! It makes me wonder though…what do I do when I procrastinate (which is a lot). Something to ponder.

As for you as a FitFluential ambassador…that’s a no-brainer. You already do it! You’re awesome!
