This morning I woke up at 4:00 AM. I got dressed in my running clothes and pulled my hair back into a ponytail. I went down to the kitchen and ate a banana.
Then I blinked a couple times, went back upstairs, put my pajamas back on and fell asleep for another 2 hours.
My eye was really scratchy, I just couldn’t imagine running for very long with that irritation. And overall… I just felt tired.
Sometimes you gotta give in to the rest. Recovery is an important part of a training plan, and my body has been under extra stress this week… so the sleep won.
I’ll try again tomorrow. 🙂
Recovery counts as training too!
Been there, certainly done that. Good to listen to your body.
On a personal note, thank you for all the support over these last few weeks, both on my blog, and Twitter, I so appreciate it very much.
Totally done that on many occasion. But not because I’d just recent eye surgery! Thats more than enough reason to skip a run if you ask me. I usually just go back to bed when I’m tired and not feeling up to running in the heat. Hope you’re eye continues to heal up. 🙂
oh and you already have the new tweet button…you are fast!
Sleep winning isn’t always a bad thing…
4am????? Your dedicated! Like the others said recovery and sleep are important too.
