I had a crappy day at work yesterday… it was just emotionally and mentally exhausting. And it’s still weighing on my mind. But for 40 minutes I got to forget about the situation and go for an awesome run, giving my body some physical exhaustion to match the other fatigues. I am traveling for work so I got the opportunity to run in some different scenery than my every day running in Las Vegas. Here is my self-portrait, all sweaty and smiling!
So for at least that time, running healed me. It helped me to forget my stress and to enjoy a beautiful day in a beautiful environment in a Utah canyon.
(Now if only I had remembered to pack sunglasses and/or a hat!)

You just described #1 on my list of reasons I run…because after a crappy day, it makes me feel better.
Glad you got out there!
I think that’s one of the best reasons to run… to get some kind of escape!
That looks like wonderful running territory! Glad it de-stressed you.
I know you won’t be surprised when you hear this from me, but once again, we’re on the same wavelength. 🙂 This was one of those weeks I just wanted to end. And it felt like it was never going to come!
Glad you are in Utah, and with your mom for the relay for life.
Terri
Terri, do we sync our brains together or what?
That’s the best feeling — when running just takes you away from the stress and the crud! Have a nice weekend.
I hope this weekend is getting better for you. It’s been a rocky April for a lot of people! Thinking about you, sweets, sending you a hug!
Thank you Lara… I’ve actually been thinking about you because it sounds like you’ve been having a tough time lately too. So I’m sending you a big hug too!
I completely agree! Running heals so much. It gives me such a personal time to clear my head and talk to God. I think about so much on my runs and always finish refreshed and with a new perspective. I love it!
Hope everything is ok! 🙂
I love how run, or any good workout, cures all!
I’m happy to hear that you were able to carve out some time for yourself and get a good run in 🙂 I hope things improve at work, and that running continues to give you some time out.
I completely agree, running is my therapy! It’s also a good way for me to analyze my work day and find some sort of closure for any stressful situations.
It is wonderful to read that running helped make your day better! Running can take us away from it all and it helps reset the natural rhythm of the mind, body and soul. Have a great week!
