Rock ‘n’ Roll Takes Over the World

Did you see/hear the announcement last week about the latest in the Rock ‘n’ Roll series? The latest half marathon in the series is going to be “rocking” in Chicago on August 9, 2009.

Earlier this year they announced that Seattle will be the host city for their latest marathon/half marathon event on June 27, 2009. I really want to do that one, it sounds like fun. I am just going to have to wait a little bit to see if my life scheduling allows me to participate in that one, but my mom also expressed an interest in doing it with me. And any chance I get to travel to and participate in these races with my mom means a lot to me.

I’m going to be racing the inaugural San Antonio Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon next month and I will also be participating in the PF Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll in Phoenix in January for the second year in a row.

But the thing that has me really excited is the item I read in the local newspaper yesterday… The Las Vegas Marathon is going Rock ‘n’ Roll for 2009. The LV Marathon has had some hardships and I so want the local race to be a success. It has such potential to be a huge draw and hopefully this new branding/partnership will be just the shot in the arm that it needed.

The 2008 event is not a Rock ‘n’ Roll race, but it should still be fun. I’ll be racing the half marathon this December so if you’re planning a trip to Vegas for the event, let me know. I’ll keep an eye out for you! 😉

  1. Any chance to travel to and participate in these races with you means a lot to me, too. But …. your life scheduling also means a lot to me! We can be flexible in our plans.
