I took a few moments to bail out of my conference and went for a run. Holy cow! It took me 25 minutes to cover 1.5 miles. I am not used to the big city running, I had to stop way too frequently for street lights, I had to slow down for crowds of people, try to find ways to duck around groups and I frequently ran into clouds of smoke. It was like an obstacle course run!
The concierge desk provided me with 3 running routes. I thought I would combine the 1.5 mile route and 1 mile route, the two together along with the hills here should have provided a decent enough workout. But after taking so long to get through one of the routes (and not having a lot of time to spare before my next session) I had to wrap it up.
But that’s okay, I got 25 out of the required 35 minutes from my training schedule completed and I got a little bit of extra exercise in today. Combined with the three miles I walked yesterday to get to and around Chinatown, I would call this week a success in my training even with the trip!
