Get Certified!

This weekend I am taking a Road Runner’s Club of America (RRCA) Coaching Certification course. The class is held on Saturday and Sunday here in Las Vegas. While I know there will be a massive amount of information and my brain will be completely filled over the span of 2 days, I am so excited.

I’m not 100% sure how I will use this certification immediately other than tweaking my own training plan and maybe using my mom as a guinea pig. (Hear that Mom? You’re going to get a training plan from me!) It’s not like I have people beating down my door for me to train them, but that doesn’t mean that someday I won’t move in that direction.

Ultimately I would LOVE to have a career where I can incorporate both my computer skills and my fitness/health interests. And as long as I keep learning and building my own arsenal, I’ll be ready to leap when an opportunity comes. Or be prepared when I’m ready to make my own opportunity.

One of my friends attended the training in Pasadena last week and he can’t stop raving about the information he acquired there. He met Lisa while there and she also seems really excited about everything they were taught. (Oh… and how jealous am I that he got to meet Lisa in person before I did? I just need to plan a trip to San Diego, I have plenty of people I need to see that live there.)

Anyway, I’m hoping this helps point me in the direction of answering many of the questions that I seem to have in terms of training and running.

But right now… I’m just buzzing from excitement and anticipation for the course. Woo hoo!

I’m excited for you and can’t wait to compare notes! I think you will really enjoy it. Like you, I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with it. I would LOVE to start my own business someday that involved helping others achieve their fitness goals. For now, I am helping friends to meet some running goals.

It was funny that I was able to meet your friend. We were talking and getting along before we realized that we both knew you. Definitely come to San Diego! You have a place to stay if you do (if you don’t mind two kids, a dog and a cat).

You will love the class! So much information to digest and incorporate. Now that I have passed the test I am going back through the books and rehashing the information again. Shoot me a text Saturday and tell me what you think!

Okay, I guess I need to respond. I want my training plan to include laying on the couch with a good book while eating ice cream.

You’re already an “elite” reader. You don’t need a training plan for that… you trained me on that from a young age! :-)

Yes, many people have met Lisa before you and I have – I feel for you! Although I’ve talked to her “live” so I feel a little better being able to say that. LOL.

I really hope you’ll enjoy the class!

That’s such a good idea!!! Let us know how it turns out! If nothing else, it will definitely make a big difference in your own training – always a good thing! :)
