Tuesday Night Running:
I skipped running on Monday due to my cold. I debated about running on Tuesday, but I knew that my mental state would be worse if I didn’t even attempt the run. I wanted to see my friends, since we wouldn’t get the chance to run together this weekend as we’ll all be in separate places. I told myself that if I felt crummy, I could always quit earlier than the 45 minutes we had on the schedule.

I arrived at Fleet Feet and we had a really good-sized group for our fun run. That was awesome, I’m glad the word is spreading and more people are showing up. Plus that will be good because I received a shipment of Frosty Towels over the weekend, so I will be distributing them amongst our Tuesday Night Fun Run group for everyone to test. It only seems fair since that is the same place we were introduced to Chill Towels.

We started our run and I felt great the whole time. Sure, I was a little more phlegmy than usual (sorry if that’s TMI), but overall I felt pretty strong and we even managed to keep a pretty good pace. I think I feel a little worse for the wear today, but I don’t know that I can attribute that to the running or not. It could just be the natural run of this bug.

Daniel Day:
Today both my brother and my brother-in-law who are named Daniel contributed to my fundraising. So I’m declaring that it is Daniel Day!

Chris from Gibtown Runner tagged me to participate in a little blog meme. So while this isn’t running-related, I figure I might as well let you guys have a little peek into my head.

  1. well, at least you didn’t make me feel old seeing that 10 years ago you were in high school, as was the case with Alissa. Although I’m still older than you, I fear!

That’s great that you were sick and still able to get out there on a run – usually I turn into a big baby and just stay home when a cold first strikes!

cool that you were a library assistant – I hope you liked it!

  2. The Vegas 1/2 should be a crazy event. How often do people get to just run down the strip!?! I’m having a lot of trouble motivating myself to get back to running after the 10 mile. Seems like once I get off the train it takes a pretty big act to get me back on. Hope I have it in me one more time to get moving!!

  3. LVGurl: I should dig up some pictures of my long hair and post them, huh? Actually, I’ve been thinking I should humiliate myself and post my whole evolution throughout elementary to high school online!

tgorourke: I was surprised to read Alissa was still in HS 10 years ago too! I loved my time as a library assistant, I did that for 3 years… had a hard time quitting and even did the job simultaneously while employed somewhere else. But the hours of having two jobs AND going to school was too much, so I had to give something up! Thanks for the kudos, if I wasn’t running for a charity cause I might have been more tempted to skip the run.

Emily: The LV Marathon is the only time The Strip gets closed for runners, so it’s definitely a big deal. Hopefully having this event will be a good motivator to get you back out running, I find having a race to train for particularly motivating.
