Monday Motivation

By 5:50 AM today I was out my door to get in a run. I truly love early morning runs at this time of year… it’s plenty light out so I don’t feel insecure in the dark and yet the sun isn’t directly overhead causing me to overheat.

I just did a little over 3 miles, simply because I do still need to worry about getting some breakfast before I have to start work by 7:00 AM. As I was reaching the end of my run (probably in the last .5 mile) I saw a woman running ahead of me.

Judging from behind, I would have guessed she was in her late 30’s. That’s just based on her body shape, muscle tone, clothing and hair styles… But as I passed her and I looked at her face while saying “Hello” and I realized she was probably about 30 years older than I initially would have guessed.

Awesome!

I hope I’m still running around as I continue to get older. That may be the only way I’ll ever be fast enough to quality for Boston, just keep running until I’m in my 80’s and then my times will be BQ-worthy.

Hope you have a good week everybody!

  1. NICE! That helps to think about how this running slows down the aging process, knowing it can literally take years off of your looks! 🙂

And I am loving not having to run in the pitch black too. 🙂
