Do Good and Win Stuff

A while ago I donated to Erin’s  (See Mom Run Far) fundraising efforts.  She is raising money as part of Team Meb raising money for the Meb Foundation.

I was impressed that Erin was training to run the ING NYC Marathon while raising money for a good cause, in and of itself.  Training for a marathon is a big undertaking, doing it while raising money for charity is even more challenging.

But when I learned that Erin is doing this while being the mother to 12 children, I was blown away.  Seriously, I have no clue how she balances all that and I am in awe of her.

As part of her fundraising, she secured donations of products from several different companies, lo and behold… I actually won a couple prizes!

1. Allied Medal Displays

They are making me a custom display to hold my race medals!  They sent me a comp of the design and I LOVE it… can’t wait to see the completed product!

2. The Silver Maple Jewelry

I have pretty much decided that I’m going with this necklace.  However, I’m not quite sure what I want it to say on the outside.  I need some kind of inspirational message… and I guess I’m, er… waiting for inspiration!

These companies have not asked me to post anything here… I’m just doing it in an effort to encourage you to contribute to Erin’s fundraising. She’s getting close to her goal.  You’ll get the tax write-off and the knowledge that you’ve done something good… but you could also potentially win a cool prize!

Thanks so much for this Jill and I am so glad you won! Can't wait to see the necklace! LOVE the medal hanger!

Congrats! Winning is always nice of course. Nice site - I like the simplicity of your header.

Thank you! I am into minimalism... not only in terms of my running shoes but also in my blog header! :-)
