San Diego Run
My husband and I decided to take a spur-of-the-moment trip this week. I have vacation days to burn up before the end of June and his trip to Oklahoma has been delayed, so we had a little time. Thus we decided to just pick a place and go away for a few days.
Our decided destination: San Diego
Once that decision was made, I contacted Lisa and asked if she wanted to get together for a run. She graciously mapped out a route around Mission Bay and along Mission Beach for us. She showed up at my hotel this morning and drove us to our start point. We had a great time chatting throughout the run and I got to experience a run with ocean views. It was cloudy and humid (especially for me as a desert dweller), but it was still beautiful because it’s so different from what I’m used to!
Just like Terri has said about meeting up with Chris, it just falls together when you meet face-to-face. No awkwardness, just getting together for a run with a pal!
I had the opportunity to meet Alissa at the expo for this year’s PF Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll in Phoenix and that was way too brief! Alissa has been a great friend electronically though, providing me with some great support and wisdom. I really appreciate her kindness and owe her a lot.
The web is such a cool thing in the way it allows us to connect with people all over the country. I love it! Plus having a person familiar with the city makes the run a lot more enjoyable than trying to figure things out when you’re visiting.
So if you’re one of my bloggin’ pals and I’m in your neck of the woods, I’m contacting you. Be ready because we’re going on a run!
Isn’t that cool, how easy it is when you meet face to face. We already know so much about each other because of the blog. We’ll I’d invite you down to phoenix to run, but not until October because its just as hot here as it is there. Glad you got to take a vacay to SD. I love running around mission bay. I’ve vacationed there many times. Infact, I have a trip planned in Sept. I’ll have to let Lisa know! Thanks for the kind words 🙂 You are an inspiration to me too, more than you know!
how fun! glad you guys had a good (and comfortable) run. there is something weird (but cool) about meeting up with blog friends – always seems to go well!
I am really looking forward to meeting some bloggers. For now, I am staying close to the east coast and there are plans for some meet-ups but hopefully I will get out to the west coast soon. I am constantly amazed by the support here in blogger world 🙂
So cool! I have some bloggers near me but we haven’t met up yet. Someday I hope it will happen.
I thoroughly enjoyed our run. I’ll run with you anytime you’re in the area. I’ll be sure to call you when I am in your neck of the woods. Thanks again!
