The Pottery Lottery Announcement

Examples of Bethany's creations.

Examples of Bethany's creations.

As each person purchased a “ticket” into the drawing by making a donation to my fundraising, I added their names to a spreadsheet. Each “ticket” allotted the person an additional entry into the spreadsheet. So people that donated $5 got their name in the lottery spreadsheet 5 times. Make sense?

Upon closing we had 214 entries into the drawing. 214! Thank you to everybody who helped support my fundraising efforts and thank you to Bethany for contributing such a great prize.

Anyway, back to the drawing… so we had 214 names in the file. I sent that file to my husband, who is a licensed CPA, and he uploaded it into software he has for doing a random sample on audit jobs. We verified that all 214 entrants made the migration into the random sample and at the press of a button, we had a winner! Drumroll please…

Ta da… Chris is the big winner!!! I have a feeling his little girl will be getting a personalized item in the near future!

Thanks again to everybody who participated!

  4. Woohoo, 214 entries! Thanks to everyone for entering, and congrats to Chris on his win! Can’t wait to make your daughter her plate.

lvgurl and Mama Stub, I would be happy to do custom pieces for you, you just have to pay for them.

In fact, if anyone wants a custom piece and in their email says the magic words, “Jill Will Run!” I will donate the profits to Jill’s fundraising efforts. (Yes, Jill, I”m serious! Do with this information what you will. ;-) )

  5. [...] I was at the pottery studio, painting the prize for the lucky winner of Jill’s pottery lottery. While I was there a mom came in with two young kids, a boy about 5 and a girl about 3. The kids [...]
